I never forget to bring my MP3 player to the gym. At times, I believe that tiny device is the only thing that gets me through my workouts. With an endless supply of good tunes, my workouts tend to be much more enjoyable.
I have about 200 songs on my MP3 player, varying from classic rock to hip hop, heavy metal to local talent. Let’s just say my workout music will never get boring. If so, I just have to hit the shuffle button and I get a new song each time!
Have you ever noticed that certain songs or musicians encourage you to exercise harder? For example, cardiovascular exercise is upbeat and responds well to beats found in hip hop or pop music. Next time your strength training try listening to heavy metal or classic rock. Relaxing exercises such as stretching or yoga listen to a classical or jazz artist. Music can motivate your workouts, and pump up your drive to exercise harder.
