Rachelle Wood's Restaurant Review- Red Pepper, Moncton NB

When my friend Kent told me about one of Moncton’s neweat restaurants, The Red Pepper, I couldn’t wait to try it. The Red Pepper is a Mongolian, “All You Can Eat ”stir fry restaurant situated in the heart of downtown Moncton on Robinson Road. As a Holistic Nutritionist who loves food, the words “all you can eat stir fry ” sparked my interest instantly.

The buffet consists of a soup of the day and a large stir fry buffet including many types of vegetables, noodles, tofu, beef, pork and chicken. Once you choose your stir fry ingredients you can then pick from herb toppings such as garlic, ginger, jalepano or red pepper flakes. The chef then cooks your meal (in water) on a hot grill. Special sauces are served over your stir fry or on the side. I ordered the Hot Mongolian sauce (absolutely delicious), while Kent picked sweet and sour. We both started our meal with the soup of the day, which was homemade tomato and vegetable. It had a slightly sweet yet tart base.

Before this special dinging experience I had never experienced Mongolian of cuisine. I’ve eaten everything from Thai to Japonese to Korean, and the Mongolian food sure hit the spot. Each bite of my stir fry was a new taste experience, which I created based on the ingredient choices I made. A customer could create a new stir fry combination every day for at least a year.

When we were choosing our ingredients, I turned to Kent and said, “ I feel like I’m in nutritionist heaven, all these healthy choices and someone else does the cooking I love this place!". This reataurant is amazing, and I would recommend it highly to anyone eating in Moncton.
