CHARLOTTETOWN – Rachelle Wood Nutrition is expanding its services to a new Summerside location to build on its work in helping Islanders lose 42,
000 lbs in its less than five years of operation.
Having worked with Islanders in Charlottetown, Montague and Souris, expanding to Summerside seemed only natural for Rachelle Wood, the registered holistic nutritionist, founder and CEO of Rachelle Wood Nutrition. The new location will operate Tuesdays and offer multiple options for those trying to shed extra pounds and lead a healthier lifestyle.
For Rachelle, this expansion was good on a personal and business level. “I’m opening an office in Summerside because I want to help the people of western PEI achieve health and wellness. PEI is my home, and I want to do what I can to help it become a healthy place using the knowledge I’ve acquired through both school and my own personal experience. PEI is the second-most obese province in Canada, but it doesn’t have to be!”
To kick-start operations at the new offices, Rachelle and Suzanne Friolet (BA in Social Work and is a Quantum Leap Certified Life Coach) will be leading a six-week group weight-loss program, starting Oct. 27, 2009. The class will feature private one-on-one weigh in and measurement sessions, group education and motivation, meal plans, recipes, handouts and a few surprises along the way.
Located at Atlantis Health Spa, 644 Water St., the new office’s services will include weight loss counselling, dietary detoxification menus, general nutritional consultations, holistic iridology and nutritional symptomatology. Rachelle is also available as a Lunch and Learn public speaker or as a Workplace Group Weight Loss program facilitator.
Rachelle Wood Nutrition has been Island owned and operated since January 2005, and specializes in weight management programs for individuals and in groups. Rachelle wrote her own weight-loss program based on her nutritional education and personal weight struggle, and has lost 100 pounds since studying at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2001. She now teaches for the college in Moncton, N.B. and is the Maritime representative on the school’s alumni association board of directors. Earlier this year Rachelle won the PEIBWA Emerging Business award.
