I must admit I’ve been feeling rather lucky lately.  Winning door prizes, scratch tickets, and the title of Canada's Best Nutritionist.  But quite frankly I fell in love with today and just can’t seem to slap the smile off my face.

So here’s the story.  It’s the afternoon and I’m driving to Souris to teach my 6 week group weight loss challenge at the hospital.  I often go biking before Souris group begins although the weather today was unpredictable. I decided to dress for all seasons just to be on the safe side. Who else has gone biking with sunglasses on lately?

As I approached St Peters the sky opened and down pored hard for approximately 3-4 minutes. With wipers at full speed I decide biking probably isn’t the best thing for me to do.  A walk on the beach sounds most appealing and i remember that my raincoat is in the trunk.

Besides exercise I had another mission in mind this afternoon.  I had to write a speech.  My company, Rachelle Wood Nutrition Inc, is a finalist in the Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce annual Presidents Excellence Awards for the Health and Wellness sector. The gala is this Thursday night and I want to be adequately prepared to enjoy my evening.

I drove down towards Lower Rollo Bay and parked my car by the Lighthouse and Beach Motel. I gathered my essentials: raincoat, blackberry, water bottle and headed to the beach. As I turned towards the ocean I caught the first glimpse of a rainbow.

This rainbow was lovely, indeed ….so I stopped to observe natures in all its beauty.  I grabbed my yoga mat from the trunk and took it down to the beach.  As I lye looking up to the sky I can’t help but feel inspired. I’ve always been a believer that rainbows bring good luck.

When I was in Reykjavik Iceland last month I decided to refer to it as the city of rainbows. Each day I saw several rainbows as the weather changes quickly.  Please note the photos in the post are all from my recent travels.  

When I see a rainbow, I would often be reminded of the lyrics from Over the Rainbow.

Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true …..
