How is your sex drive? Over drive or a sleep at the wheel?

Many woman, and some men, (yes men too) can have a low sex drive. There are lots of reason why we may not feel sexual vitality. Did you know that sex and nutrition go hand in hand? Really they do. Stress can certainly put a damper on “Sexy Time”, so too can the foods you eat, or don’t eat.

A wholesome diet low in fat and high in fiber (that “F” word again –Fibre) and complex carborhdrates are good places to start. I got another F-word for you. Fats, good fats really do go a long way..any foods from the ocean, such as fish, shellfish, oysters and claims probably because of their zinc content.   Seaweeds as well as celery root, and ginseng root, I could go on and on. On the flip side, lets look at some foods that are counter productive to getting your mojo back. Milk (cow’s) products such as cheese and icecream may have a sedative effect on sexual energy. Remember when Mom used to give you a glass of milk before bedtime. Got milk, if so, say yes to sleepy time and no to sexy time.

Some things you may want to try: Exercise, stress reduction, sleep and some supplements that have also been known to help are – Vitamin E,C, Zinc, Niacin, Arginine, Selenium to name but a few, there are lots more.

Some fun sex facts: Sex can rev up your fat-burning hormones, satisfy cravings and control appetite. Talk about sweet deals.
