When we’re trying to release fat from our bodies it can be intimidating and extremely overwhelming.  If you’re feeling like you don’t know where to start, or feel like you have so much fat to lose that just the mere thought of the job ahead seems too much to think about. Well let’s put on our “big girl panties” and get the job done.

Now remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day and this weight is not going to melt away. Losing weight takes time, hard work and dedication. Consider healthy living a long term investment for you and your body.  Be prepared to shed a few years along the journey to less weight.

It’s easy to get wrapped up with the numbers of weight loss; however doing so may jeopardize your results. We always ask our clients to throw out the home scale. Yes you can live without it and enjoy a once per week accountability  on someone else’s.

Learn how to break large weight loss numbers down into smaller goals. For example if you are 100 pounds overweight, let’s look at breaking that number down into percentages. A 10% weight loss can have a significant improvement on your overall health. Losing just 10 pounds will begin to put a smile on your face. Do you have an extra 10 pounds you would like to see gone? Why not give some of these ideas a try?

To make this easier for ourselves lets break it down to concentrating on changing 1 thing a week. My thoughts are 1 pound a week, that’s 3500 calories less, wait that number seems too big let’s break it down again. How about 500 calories a day, X 7 days. If 500 seems too big a number, you know what to do, break it down again, how about getting rid of 200 calories by noon, 200 by Dinner and 100 by 9pm. If that seems too big how about 500 calories divided by 12 hours makes 42 calories each hour.

You get the idea, no excuses, you can do this. If you want 10lbs gone then YOU have to make it happen! If you live in Charlottetown and need some help consder joinign our 6 week group weight loss challenge beginning this Wednesday May 25th.
