When the student is ready the teacher is near to guide, inspire, support and kick your a**.  After a few months when the routine gets old, a good teacher will switch it up to push you towards greatness.  Making you accomplish goals that you once thought were out of reach. The first day I walked into Dynamic Fitness I was looking for something to belong to. I had seen many of my clients shrink their waist lines and knew I could do it too.  No more long work day excuses, I was ready to be accountable.

Over the past 11 months I’ve experimented with many classes and switched my physique from flabby to fit. With such a dynamic mix of classes, no wonder almost a year later I’m in the best shape of my life.  It all started with hot yoga to gain confidence and improve flexibility.  Next was spin for endurance and pilates for control. As I felt confident with my physical strength I desired more intensive training. So I joined adult functional fitness, Eli Sport Adult private group training sessions. Although I didn’t see it, when I joined Dynamic Fitness, owners Dave MacEachern and Triona Harp knew I could be an athlete.  It would just take a little coaching.

Finding fitness is all about accountability to your body. Eli Sport Adult classes push you towards achieving your personal fitness goals.  Eli’s professional trainers are always encouraging me to lift more, breathe deeply and bend further. A huge thank you to the Dynamic Fitness staff: Steve, Matt, John, James, Megan, Meighan and Erika. Eli Sport has trained some of the Islands top athletes. Infact just a few weeks ago Adam McQuaid visited with the Stanley Cup.  I hear the young Kid Sport Athletes especially enjoyed that!

Its 16 days until I complete my first goal, biking the Tip to Tip for Africa Bike Race. I’m ready to tackle 273 km of Island trails in 3 days for a very good cause.  Please take the time to make a donation in rider name Rachelle Wood and help me fight poverty. As a Nutritionist I believe that everyone has the right to nourishing food and clean drinking water. Thanks for your support.

I can’t promise  a gold medal, but I will give it all I got!  When the going gets tough I’ll think of Meighan’s voice Saturday morning spin class pushing us through the rough spots.  Or about Matt making me run up and down those stairs way too many times.  Recently I completed my first series of cage or “big boy” squats with Steve, I was beaming happy after that class. Thank you Eli for believing in me, you turn everyone into an athlete eventually… even a former fat girl like me!

Looking forward to my next fitness goal … but what shall it be? Laughing
